Can a Christian enjoy a life as a nudist?

Picture
_Lets set up a few definitions (from Dictionary.com) before we get going!

Christian:
        1. of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ  or His teachings: a Christian faith.
        2. of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I don't consider myself a religious person, instead of religion I have a relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ! You see, religions are created by man, with man made rules and limitations, but the relationship I have in Christ, was created by what Christ did for me, by dying for my sins, being buried for 3 days, which I believe Jesus spent in sheol or hades, paying for the sins of this world, including my sins! However He did not stay in the grave, but was resurrected, providing me with THE way of SALVATION, through trusting in Him!

Nudist:
the practice of going nude, especially in places that allow sexually mixed groups, in the belief that such practice benefits health.

Nudists can also be called Naturists. I want to make a comment here about the word NATURIST. Naturist is not the same word as NATURALIST! Some people get these two words confused. NaturAList/naturalism is a philosophy, which is the view of the world that takes account only of natural elements and forces, excluding the supernatural or spiritual (from Dictionary.com). Naturalism takes God out of the picture! Naturism isn't a philosophy, but rather way of living where a person prefers to live life nude (or natural), a state in which we all came into this world!

Can I be in a socially nude situation, without sin?

While thinking about this issue recently, God put a new twist on something that I have known for a long time. God, with the exception of the few examples in the Bible, does not care what a person is wearing, but rather what is in a persons heart! Now, again, this wasn't a new concept for me, however appling it to the area of nudity was! The clothing we wear, or don't wear, is a personal choice, just like any other personal liberty that God has given to us. But, like any other personal liberty, we need to use it responsibly! Nudity, like everything else in a Christian's life, should be based on, and tested by God's word! Also, you need to be able to answer the following questions:

1. What are my motives?
2. Will my involvment in this activity (in this case nudity) while around another brother in Christ, cause him (or her) to stumble?
3. Will this activity (again in this case my nudity) be a bad testimony for others to see?

These are all personal matters, however I feel that item #1 above is an important issue. If you are trying the naturist lifestyle just to fulfill some sexual desires (exhibitionistic or voyeuristic), then you are getting into it for the wrong reason, and a sinful reason. If you are interested in Naturism as a Christian, because you feel that God created the human body and called it good, and you are not

Not everyone will be comfortable in a socially nude environment. The concept of being nude with anyone other than your spouse is a hard thing for some or even most people to get over. It is difficult to just dismiss years of what you have been taught. I can not answer this question for anyone else but me, however if you are struggling with this question, I suggest that you pray about it, God WILL give you an answer! However it may not be the answer you are looking for! Just remember that you need to follow God's will, in everything you do!

One other issue I want to cover before moving on. Am I a Christian nudist, or a nudist Christian? I used to call myself a Christian nudist, but that is stating that I'm a nudist first and foremost, this is wrong! I am first and foremost a Christian, that doesn't like to wear clothing, making me a nudist Christian. I will never be mistaken as an English major, but I do want to make sure that Christ is the center in all I do!

I need to take this time to ask you a question. If you were to be involved in a car accident today, and you died, do you know where you would spend eternity? If you answered no to this question, and would like to know for sure how you can answer yes, then click here. If you answered yes to this question, then please continue reading on.

“If nudity offends you, you are disrespecting God’s greatest creation.”
- source unknown, found on Pepe-nudism.com

This is a rather interesting quote, since the human body is God's greatest creation. Being offended by something that God created AND CALLED GOOD sure seems to me like a slap in God's face! Can you imagine taking something and covering up the beauty of a sunset over a large body of water, because you're offended by it! Who would even think about doing that? Well, what do you think we do when we cover our bodies, because we are offended by them? The more I think about this statement, the more I think it's going to drive my interest in non-sexual nudity.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this quote. Please email me with any comments you have.
